Type specimens:
- Gobisaurus domoculus: IVPP V12563, a skeleton (skull and unknown postcranial material). Its type locality is Maortu, which is in a Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Ulansuhai Formation of China.
- Zhongyuangosaurus luoyangensis: 41HIII-0002, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skull, fragmentary lower jaw, one cervical neural spine, one complete and five partial dorsal vertebrae, seven proximal caudal vertebrae, three ). Its type locality is Liufugou, Liudan, which is in an Aptian/Albian terrestrial horizon in the Haoling Formation of China.
