Sister taxon: Aldebarania taberna

Type specimen: Holotype USNM 476526, Paratypes USNM 481615-481617. Its type locality is Asteroidea, Peedee fm., Martin Marieta Quarry, Rocky Point, which is in a Maastrichtian foreshore sandstone in the Peedee Formation of North Carolina.

Ecology: slow-moving semi-infaunal carnivore

Distribution: found only at Asteroidea, Peedee fm., Martin Marieta Quarry, Rocky Point
