Sister taxa: none

Type specimen: SMNS 56342, a skeleton (nearly complete articulated skeleton missing distal parts of the limbs). Its type locality is Austriadactylus type locality near Ankerschlag, which is in a Sevatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Seefelder Schichten Formation of Austria.

Ecology: volant piscivore
