Type specimen: ZPAL MgR-I/119, a skull (ZPAL MgR-I/119). Its type locality is Khulsan (general) [PMPE], which is in a Campanian/Campanian eolian sandstone/sandstone in the Baruungoyot Formation of Mongolia.
