Sister taxa: Geotrypus acutidentatus, Geotrypus antiquus, Geotrypus copernici, Geotrypus montisasini, Geotrypus oschiriensis, Geotrypus tomerdingensis
Type specimen: SMNS BSP 1971 XXV 281, a mandible (Mandible dex with p1-m3). Its type locality is Ehrenstein 4, which is in a MP 30 fissure fill horizon in Germany.
Ecology: fossorial insectivore
Distribution: found only at Ehrenstein 4
