Type specimens:

  • Macroelongatoolithus carlylei: BYU-E 200, an egg. Its type locality is Castle Dale, Jensen Locality 1, which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial shale in the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah.
  • Longiteresoolithus xixiaensis: Its type locality is Liuying, Yangcheng, which is in a Cenomanian/Turonian terrestrial siltstone in the Gaogou Formation of China.
  • Macroelongatoolithus goseongensis: KNUE 10101, an egg. Its type locality is Ddabakseom egg site, which is in a Campanian floodplain mudstone in the Goseong Formation of South Korea.
  • Megafusoolithus qiaoxianensis:

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of China (4 collections), South Korea (2), United States (15: Idaho, Nevada, Utah)

Total: 21 collections each including a single occurrence
