Sister taxa: Isotemnus colhuehuapiensis, Isotemnus haugi, Isotemnus latidens, Isotemnus primitivus, Prostylops typus

Type specimen: Amer. Mus. No. 28568, a mandible (part of right lower jaw with M1-4). Its type locality is Cañadón Hondo, Kibenikhoria Faunal Zone, which is in a Riochican alluvial fan sandstone in the Las Flores Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of Argentina (3 collections)
