Griphodon peruvianus
Taxonomy
Griphodon peruvianus was named by Anthony (1924). Its type specimen is AMNH 17724, a mandible (fragment of the left mandibular ramus with dm4, m1 and unerupted p3-4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chicoca, Huallaga River, which is in an Eocene terrestrial gypsum in Peru. It is the type species of Griphodon.
