Tapes conradiana was named by Gabb (1864).

It was recombined as Macrocallista conradiana by Dickerson (1916); it was recombined as Marcia conradiana by Waring (1917); it was recombined as Microcallista conradiana by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Microcallista (Costacallista) conradiana by Weaver (1942); it was recombined as Callista conradiana by Givens and Kennedy (1979).
