Arionellus hyeronimi was named by Kayser (1876). Its type specimen is UBA 2566 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Angelina hyeronimi by Harrington and Leanza (1957), Robison and Pantoja-Alor (1968), Pratt (1988).
