Taxonomy
Leucosyrinx nicoya was named by Olsson (1942) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Neogene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Charco Azul [Charco Azul Fm], which is in a Pliocene offshore shale in the Charco Azul Formation of Costa Rica.
