Pachydectes elsi
Taxonomy
Pachydectes elsi was named by Rubidge et al. (2006). Its type specimen is BPI/1/5735, a skull, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is farm Môrester, Jansenville, which is in a Capitanian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Koonap Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Pachydectes.
