It was recombined as Semicassis nupera by Conrad (1865); it was recombined as Cassidea (Semicassis) nupera by Cossmann (1903); it was recombined as Sconsia nupera by Pilsbry (1922); it was recombined as Sconsia (Doliocassis) nupera by Davies (1935); it was recombined as Doliocassis nupera by Palmer and Brann (1966) and CoBabe and Allmon (1994).
