Taxonomy
Hemizyga (Plocezyga) convertacostata was named by Hoare (1961). Its type specimen is U.Iowa J.B. Owen Coll. 6152, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 39. Banks of Honey Creek near point where country road crosses stream at ford, ~2 miles north of Harvey, which is in a Desmoinesian marine shale in the Cabaniss Formation of Missouri.
