Melongena ickei was named by Martin (1906) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Myanmar.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Mindegyi (Singu stage), which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Singu Formation of Myanmar.
It was recombined as Melongena (Pugilina) ickei by Vredenburg (1923).
