Xhosacetus hendeysi
Taxonomy
Xhosacetus hendeysi was named by Bianucci et al. (2007). Its type specimen is SAM PQ 2082, a partial skull (partial skull including most of the rostrum, anterior part of the cranium, and the vertex), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern Africa, offshore, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene marine phosphorite in South Africa. It is the type species of Xhosacetus.
