M. Harzhauser and T. Kowalke 2002 | The small-sized, moderatcly slender shell measures up to 3 mm in height and 1 mm in width. The high conical protoconch consists of two and a half whorls. It measures 0.5 mm in height. The firsl whorl measurce about 0.2 mm in width. The teleoconch comprises four unifirmly convex whorls with impressed sutures. The subcylindrical body whorl may bear broad, weak. oblique axial folds in the posterior part of the ventral side. The aperture is higher than wide with subparallel margins in lhe anterior two-thirds. It is not constricted in a conspicuous posterior canal. The columellar lip bears a weak callus pad. The aperture is characterised by a thin outer lip as wcil as a by a broad and short siphonal canal. In one shell, three very weak spiral grooves on the base are preserved. The axial folds of the ventral side of the body whorl are a strongly variablc feature. ()nly one shell bears distinct folds, whilsl another is completely smooth; the third available specimen represents a transition between both forms. All shells arc characterised by glossy shells- a feature which can be also observed within Badenian representatives of Pyrene in the collection of the NHMW. |
