Lucina columbella was named by Lamarck (1818) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Recent; Eastern Atlantic, Indian Ocean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Lucina (Linga) columbella by Vredenburg (1928); it was recombined as Linga (Linga) columbella by Freneix et al. (1988).
