Natica soluta was named by Gould (1847) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Patagonia.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Falsilunatia.

It was recombined as Polynices solutus by Carcelles (1950); it was recombined as Falsilunatia solutus by Pastorino (2005).
