Taxonomy
Petrocrania teretis was named by Cooper and Grant (1974). Its type specimen is USNM 151405a, a valve, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM706e, Hess Canyon, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Word Formation of Texas.
