Taxonomy
Polypora dzhulfensis was named by Morozova (1965). Its type specimen is PIN 1613/31 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mackinneyella dzhulfensis by Morozova and Lisitsyn (1996), Ernst et al. (2006).
