Taxonomy
Ammonites sutherlandi was named by Etheridge (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Marathon [Tambo Series], which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Australia.

It was recombined as Beudanticeras sutherlandi by Whitehouse (1926) and Whitehouse (1928).
