Grangerellidae was named by Russell (1931). It is not extant. Its type is Grangerella.

It was assigned to Pulmonata by Gingerich (1987); to Orthalicoidea by Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Stylommatophora by Bouchet et al. (2017).
