Taxonomy
Cassidaria planotecta was named by Meyer and Aldrich (1886). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Morio planotecta by Johnson (1899); it was recombined as Mambrinia planotecta by Gardner (1939), Harris and Palmer (1947); it was recombined as Galeodea planotecta by Beu (2008).
