Taxonomy
Meekia (Mygallia) lirata was named by Saul and Popenoe (1962). Its type specimen is UCLA 36094, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CIT loc. 1267, Little Cow Creek Valley, which is in a Turonian coastal horizon in the Redding Formation of California.
