Taxonomy
Keyserlingites was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Tr Anis-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302,1066]. Its type is Ceratites subrobustus. It is the type genus of Keyserlingitidae.

It was reranked as Ceratites (Keyserlingites) by Diener (1907).

It was assigned to Ceratites by Diener (1907); to Keyserlingitinae by Tozer (1994); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Sibiritidae by Spath (1934), Kummel (1969), Brayard et al. (2009); and to Keyserlingitidae by Smyshlyaeva and Zakharov (2017).
