Taxonomy
Kingoceras was named by Miller (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Kingoceras achurense.

It was assigned to Otoceratidae by Spinosa et al. (1975); to Araxoceratidae by Leonova (2002); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paraceltitidae by Korn (2006).

C. Spinosa et al. 1975Ancestral otoceratids characterized by thinly lenticular conch form and by sutures with only eight fully isolated lobes. The sutural formula is unknown, but judging from relative sizes of lobes in small specimens, it may be interpreted as (V1V1)LI(I2I4:I3)I1(D1D1)
