Taxonomy
Bactrites sandbergeri was named by Barrande (1867). It is the type species of Eobactrites.

It was recombined as Eobactrites sandbergeri by Schindewolf (1932), Sweet (1958); it was recombined as Bactroceras sandbergeri by Dzik (1981), Evans (2005).
