Scaphites bosquensis was named by Böse (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 964 (Adkins), South Bosque River [Del Rio Clay], which is in a Cenomanian marine horizon in the Del Rio Clay Formation of Texas.
