Taxonomy
Ammonites halli was named by Meek and Hayden (1856). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Rhaeboceras.

It was recombined as Phylloceras halli by Meek (1876); it was recombined as Rhaeboceras halli by Riccardi (1983) and Cobban (1987).
