Ammonites mosquerae was named by Karsten (1886). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Benueites mosquerae by Renz (1982).

Synonyms
  • Benueites spinosus was named by Reyment (1954) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian; Western Africa.]. Its type specimen is BMNH C.47388, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wadatta, near Makurdi, which is in a Turonian carbonate limestone in the Mungo River Formation of Nigeria.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Benueites mosquerae by Renz (1982).
