Taxonomy
Lithodomus atavus was named by Waagen (1881). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chidru, topmost Productus Limestone, Salt Range, which is in a Changhsingian coastal sandstone in the Chhidru Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Lithophaga atavus by Newell (1942).
