Hatzegopteryx thambema
Taxonomy
Hatzegopteryx thambema was named by Buffetaut et al. (2002). Its type specimen is FGGUB R1083, a partial skeleton (Associated skull elements (occiput, right suspensorium), incomplete left humerus and unidentified bone fragments from a single individual), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Valioara, Hatzegopteryx holotype site, which is in a Maastrichtian channel siltstone in the Densuş-Ciula Formation of Romania. It is the type species of Hatzegopteryx.
