Taxonomy
Enteletes lateroplicatus was named by Fantini Sestini and Glaus (1966). Its type specimen is Milan Univ I 1323 a, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lower Elikah Valley, Central Elburz Mountains, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian marine limestone/shale in the Nesen Formation of Iran.
