Euhystrichoceras was named by Spath (1923) [Distribution: Lower Cenomanian; localy frequent in Tunisia, Algeria Texas (USA); rare in Nigeria, France and United Kingdom. Occurence in the Upper Cenomanian is doubtful.]. Its type is Ammonites nicaisei.
It was assigned to Schloenbachiinae by Reyment (1955); to Schloenbachiidae by Spath (1925), Young (1979); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mortoniceratinae by Kennedy and Wright (1981), Cobban and Kennedy (1989), Kennedy and Morris (2018).
