Taxonomy
Theelia staurolithensis was named by Kristan-Tollmann (1972). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype H 39, coll. Kristan-Tollmann, Geologisches Institut der Universität Wien and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kreuzstein, Mondsee, Oberösterreich, which is in an Aptian marine horizon in Austria.
