Dendrerpeton acadianum
Taxonomy
Dendrerpeton acadianum was named by Owen (1853). Its type specimen is BMNH R4158 (lectotype, designated by Carroll, 1967), a partial skull (partial dermal roof and fragments of palate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Coal Mine Point; Divison 4, Section XV, coal-group 15, which is in a Westphalian A mire/swamp sandstone/coal in the Joggins Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Dendrerpeton.
