Taxonomy
Jahnia pelmen was named by Bogolepova and Kříž (1995) [Jahnia? pelmen]. Its type specimen is SCGM N 974/10, a shell (right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Well FT 3, Unit 3, which is in a Rhuddanian marine limestone in the Kochumdek Formation of the Russian Federation.

O. K. Bogolepova and J. Kříž 1995Shell subtriangular, prosocline, obese, inequilateral, inequivalve. Left valve unknown. In right valve, anterior slope steeper than posterior slope. Shell somewhat posteriorly elongated. Large, prominent, prosogyre umbo in almost central position. Inner surface sculpture of almost regularly spaced flat growth bands and furrows, narrowing ventrally. Outer surface sculpture preserved on holotype in umbonal part consisting of well developed sharp regular growth lines. Right valve commissure curved in ventral part laterally toward right valve. Other features unknown.
