Pelagornis chilensis
Taxonomy
Pelagornis chilensis was named by Mayr and Rubilar-Rogers (2010). Its type specimen is MNHN SGO.PV 1061, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Morro, which is in a Tortonian/Messinian marine sandstone in the Bahía Inglesa Formation of Chile.
