Taxonomy
Leptodesma indistincta was named by Biakov (2002). Its type specimen is MCGS 12/1019, a valve (Right valve), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Kinkiya Ravine, Site 22, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Soktui Formation of the Russian Federation.
