Diacanthaspis lepidus
Taxonomy
Diacanthaspis lepidus was named by Whittington (1956) [Paratypes: USNM 116518a-c]. Its type specimen is USNM 116517, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 2. edge of quarry, just north of RR tracks ¼ mile west of Strasburg Junction, which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.
