Taxonomy
Pernopecten guangdongensis was named by Zhang (1977). Its type specimen is IV55247, a valve (Left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Houshan, Dafu, Qujiang County (Longtan Fm), which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Longtan Formation of China.
