Taxonomy
Triarthrus billingsi was named by Barrande (1872). Its type specimen is MNHP 1658, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cap Tourmente, which is in an Ordovician offshore shelf mudstone in the Utica Shale Formation of Canada.
