Prognathodon kianda
Taxonomy
Prognathodon kianda was named by Schulp et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MGUAN PA 129, a partial skeleton (relatively complete skull with disarticulated postcranial elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bentiaba (layer above Bench 19), which is in a Maastrichtian marginal marine siltstone in the Mocuio Formation of Angola.
