Prognathodon compressidens
Taxonomy
Liodon compressidens was named by Gaudry (1892). Its type specimen is MNHN-Z-C-1878-5, a partial skull (Lower and upper toothed jaws (including premaxilla, the right maxilla and both dentaries)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Michery (vertebrate locality), which is in a Campanian carbonate chalk in France.
It was recombined as Prognathodon compressidens by Schulp et al. (2008).
