Prognathodon mosasauroides
Taxonomy
Liodon mosasauroides was named by Gaudry (1892). Its type specimen is MNHN 1891-14, a partial skull (Anterior part of a skull, including premaxillae, both maxillae and dentaries, preserved in occlusion), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cardesse, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate marl in the Nay Formation of France.
It was recombined as Prognathodon mosasauroides by Schulp et al. (2008) and Driscoll et al. (2019).
