It was synonymized subjectively with Keyserlingites middendorffi by Kummel (1969); it was recombined as Keyserlingites nikitini by Bychkov et al. (1976); it was recombined as Olenekoceras nikitini by Dagis and Ermakova (1988), Dagis et al. (1996).
