Taxonomy
Polypora larga was named by Gorjunova (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 2351/337 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirk-Kochu River, Central Pamirs, which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in the Kalaktash Formation of Tajikistan.
It was recombined as Parapolypora larga by Morozova and Lisitsyn (1996).
