Taxonomy
Pervinquieria proteus was named by Haas (1942) [DISTRIBUTION: Upper Albian; West Africa.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hanha, near Lobito (Vernay collection), which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Angola.
It was recombined as Mortoniceras (Boeseites) proteus by Young (1968).
