Lotagnostus was named by Whitehouse (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-l Cm Trep-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Agnostidae by Whittington et al. (1997), Bao and Jago (2000); and to Agnostida by Sepkoski (2002).
